Swimming and a Picnic at the Nile - 1932

These photographs came with a collection of other photographs and the remains of a photograph album that covered the period 1929 to 1935. The photographs shown here seem to belong to the period 1931 or 1932, due to the presence of staff/adults and students in these that can be seen in other, already identified photographs. It is however unclear if the top two photographs presented here, are of the same event as the picnic shown in the photograph below them. Whilst the number of students present would suggest that they are not, the members of staff/adults present are not only the same but wearing exactly the same clothing. For this reason, it is assumed that these three photographs are of the same event. The woman in the sleeveless white dress and wearing glasses, and apparently in the role of a senior member of staff, bears a resemblance to Mrs Forder seen in photographs with the Khartoum Rangers - here. You can also see her in what is believed to be a solo portrait of her: here.

It is also possible that these photographs relate directly to the event depicted here, due to the presence of one particular student - again swimming in the Nile - the girl with the white head-band: clearly the same girl in both sets of photographs.
